Crazy work things!I know I talk about work all the time and by "talk about it", I mostly just say "wow work is busy!" I realize this is probably boring but I'm afraid that talking in depth about sitting in a cubicle and typing a lot might actually be more boring. I still feel obligated to mention it because it occupies most of my life at the moment.
Anyway, work hasn't particularly changed a lot, but it has been very taxing for me because we are stuck in this position where we have just enough people to get things done but not enough people to actually improve the business, if that makes sense. This is probably fine for agents but as manager, it's tough for me to have to push urgent projects back all the time. We aren't able to hire more people at the moment so I'm trying very hard to become more efficient and manage my time more precisely so I can squeeze these projects through and make my deliverables. I've even thought about working at home... hhhh. Avoiding that thought for now.
Sick Lizard! One serious stress point for me last month was that one of my geckos (Teeny) got sick. You can see a [gigantic, sorry] picture here, if you like. I had taken everyone into the vet for their yearly checkups over the course of May and Teeny's tests came back that she had pinworms. Pinworms (an intestinal parasite) can be a bit of a nuisance but in Leopard Geckos are usually neither a big deal nor hard to get rid of. I still had the medicine from when Sprinkles had pinworms and the vet said I could give it to Teeny.
Well, Teeny was so interested in what the medicine was, I just let her lick it off the syringe. Except she apparently decided to breathe instead of swallow it and it got all up in her lungs. She couldn't breathe very well and wasn't coughing it back up (it's a bit thick). I took her to the vet and they decided to treat her as though she had a respiratory infection - she needed to get 2 injections every 3 days; one anti-inflammatory and one antibiotic. I wasn't sure if she'd get better. I was so depressed that I stopped exercising after work and would just lay face down on the ground in front of her cage for a few hours instead. I was even more scared because her last injection was literally the day before my vacation and I didn't want to go if she wasn't going to be well but I had already bought my plane tickets...
She didn't show any signs of improvement for like three weeks and then suddenly BAM she got better really fast. She was looking so good the day before vacation that the vet didn't even think she needed another x-ray to check. Now that I'm back from vacation, she's still recovering from stress but doing well physically. I'm very happy although short about $900 :c
Visitors and Vacation! The weekend before vacation, Tokenekie happened to be in Texas so he made the trip up to hang out for a day! It was really fun. He got us into Over the Garden Wall, which we hadn't watched previously and now we've seen completely two times. Really, it's a good show and a rewarding rewatch. We also saw Finding Dory which, if you haven't seen it, is pretty good.
But, Vacation! I had barely any time to prepare for it. I had to buy clothes at the last minute and also forgot to tell AguaRush11 that I was going to be in her area :c. We spent about 5 days up in Minnesota. We did archery, visited Minnehaha Park, ate at some quaint restaurants, and took a road trip to Wisconsin to attend a wedding (that's what I had to buy clothes for).
Other things!Okay! To sum it all up, I'm doing well. I hope you are all doing well too! Starting tomorrow, I'll be back to streaming on Saturdays. Now that my boyfriend's work schedule has changed to give him Saturday's off, I may begin streaming on Sundays instead so I don't have to share our crappy internet with him. Not sure about it, though.
Last, here is a meme thing that I was tagged on by Jz113 who might not have expected me to actually do it. It's super late so my cognitive ability is very limited, but here goes.
1. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, and find line 4
The closest book to me contains wallpaper samples (you know the kind of book) and it looks like the first 26 pages are missing. Oops.
2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What can you reach?
My water bottle.
Ugh the worst time to have a super tidy room.
3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
4. Without looking guess what time it is?
5. Now look at the clock. What is the actual time?
6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
Chris playing Monster Hunter 4 on the 3DS
7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
8:30pm, going to get Chinese since I worked overtime today and didn't feel like cooking.
8. Before you started this survey, what did you look at?
My new bed sheets. I can't believe my boyfriend chose this awful color.
9. What are you wearing?
A black "bad ass coffee" tee and black shorts.
10. Did you dream last night?
Yes. Unfortunately, I'm a professional dream forgetter, so I can't tell you anything about it.
11. When did you last laugh?
Teeny has this dot of something stuck on the white paper towels that line the bottom of her cage. I watched her for about 5 minutes keep stalking it and attacking it. I can't feed her any more though because she is gigantic.
12. What are on the walls you are in?
Nothing (yeah, lame I know). Maybe this book of wallpaper samples is here for a reason. Destiny...
13. Seen anything weird lately?
No... but for some reason, I can't remember anything I did outside of work recently?
14. What do you think of this quiz?
I haven't stopped filling it out yet so it isn't a complete bust.
15. What was the last film you saw?
Wet Hot American Summer (enh)
16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?
17. Tell me something about you that I don't know?
I did not have short hair at any point in my life until I was 18
18. If you could change one thing about the world.
Everyone should use their indicator when driving

Lots of things including but not limited to:
Architecture (survey? basics?)
Molding and Lifecasting
20. George Bush:
21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
WHAT HAVE I DONE?
22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
23.) Would you ever consider living abroad?
Probably not. No offense, other countries. You are amazing and beautiful.
24. What do you want God to say when you reach the pearly gates?
Have you seen my book with... just a bunch of wallpapers in it?
25. Tag six people who must also do this in THEIR journal:
