I think it's simply heart warming to see so many good people interested in your art, or anyone's for that matter.

I am curious, how did you start on DA? Many artists started on DA in humble ways, some other ways as well. (ever considered doing a FAQ when you had the time?)

:D It's funny, how people become as they are after awhile.

As in how did I first come across this site and make an account? =O!

someone posted an image of 100 anime faces on advancedanime.com five years ago xD They crossposted it from their deviantart account so it was linked in the image and I was navigated to this website from there! I made an account but, back then, my monitor was SOOO DARK! (i had to navigate runescape by following my friend with white hair (wow, naming these websites I used to hang out on is totally aging myself)) and DA's website was also dark, so there wasn't a way for me to get around! So I let my account ferment unused for about a year until I remembered it randomly one day and I was like ooohh! And started using it again aannndd, it goes from there. XD!!

I made a FAQ once but it wasn't very serious >XD!

Oh my god. I know what you mean by the screen being like, darker than the inside of a box xD What was it, the kind, do you know? I can remember when mom had a mil 2000 comp and the screen itself was a monster, but it was either a) too freaking bright or b) darker than hell!

Heh, I use to play runescape myself; so did a lot of my buddies (all guys I was a total nerd, still am). Mine was weird, long and confusing xD White hair huh? How'd you explain that to someone? Ha ha, that's pretty funny Shinerai. You're not aging yourself silly, I played it as well xDD

Really? I never saw the old DA. I only joined a little while ago from a buddy of mine suggesting checking it out. xD Was it really clunky and slow? Or what? Just wonky in so many ways? Man that sounds like it really sucked to figure stuff out...IF you can't even see the screen xD

Well now, that's pretty cool Shin! It's not epic, but it's very funny and I can relate to the whole screen thing. What did you do before hand? Could you even draw on the computer before hand? Or did you do a lot of pencil art, like traditional art etc? >x3 I've never owned a tablet, so everything I do is by hand or by mouse, if I do do something digitally.

When you started using DA again, what was your first impression? Did you get a lot of people attacking you once you started uploading your art or...? How's you come along all the other folks you know? :P It's all very interesting to hear from another person how they started, tells me a lot about someone.

I remember it was a gateway computer with Windows95 XD We tried so hard to fix it and it'd either be like just REALLY DARK or mediumdark+YELLOW. XD!!

As for runescape, yeah my friend's character had white hair so I'd just right click him and follow. But it sucked if someone else in the area had white hair and i mistook them D: and once I got trapped in the bank because I couldn't find the way out. Damn dark screen.

Actually no, it was pretty fast but the information wasn't really arranged well. When I joined, DA looked like this. [link]

:D i love wayback machine. check it owt.

I loved DA, obviously, when I rejoined about a year later. I didn't submit as much though and I didn't have a tablet so all my work was traditional. I think I got a tablet soon; i don't remember D:

but i didn't start out popular at all. recieving one or two comments only just like every other regular person. and then bam, i was popular. idk.

OH NOES, NOT FREAKIN YELLOW AHHHHHH. -flails arms-

Oh dear, that sounds pretty nuts xD Too bad you did not have a little dance code, if you got lost. Do this little thing here and that thing there and you know that person is there xD Bah~!

Oh dear, now that's a bit crazy. >_> Totally different from today. Wow, looks like a total mess if anything. But it was a good start if nothing else. I would've been driven up the walls by all of that stuff ha~ How did you ever survive??

xDDD Wayback machine, now there's something funny. I never even knew such a a thing existed ha ah~

Huh, well that's dandy. I thought you always had one, but alas, this one did not know! xD Personally, I think tablets really are able to increase a person's field in art. But it depends on the person huh? There are some folks out there without and they pw3n all over the place.

Whoa, that's kind of freaky. >_> How in the world did you take that? Like, were you elated/depressed? I'd be really quite freaked out if that happened to me. What did you see in your time as you improved upon you relations with other DA users? A lot of art theft? Back stabbing? Or just a lot of hassles? xD How about Moro, did she know or did you tell her about it?

It's all very interesting to me really xD I enjoy learning stuff about people ha ha ha.

I learned about the wayback machine by reading encyclopedia dramatica. XD! Luckily, they moved to the next version before I came back to dA :D I got a tablet my freshman year of highschool I think. Yeah, because I still ate in the cafeteria those days!

I think tablets provide GATEWAYS, but it's still up the the person themself to utilize it and accell in that field C:

XD no one's ever been interested in me so I feel like I'm rambling! It's fun to be asked questions like these though. Well, I actually don't know why I'm popular! There are tons of people more deserving of the pageviews I have and my art definitely can't be the soul reason for 800k. When I was a nobody, I always made it a point to comment, reply to, and talk with my watchers! I was familiar with most of them for a very long time! So as I became popular and I was depressed as it became more and more difficult to remember all my watchers and interact with them. I still try to reply to my comments but there's no way I can be as familiar with all of them like I was before.

Popularity definitely brings good things; friends, praise, and inspiration. But with it comes the things you mentioned; drama, backstabbing and theft. All of which I've dealt with. I used to be really big about art theft; I hated it. Nowadays I've just come to terms (don't get me wrong, i'm not condoning it), and it really doesn't bother me anymore. There has definitely been a lot of backstabbing (that I didn't deserve and some I did) and hassles.

but the good outweighs the bad!! (or I wouldn't be here :D)

I've been with moro for 3.5 years! :D So she definitely knows the majority of everything I do. XD She may not have been there personally, but if not, i told her.
