Been a long time since I posted something kinda D:

I've been working on this for the past several days. It is definitely the biggest thing I've completed (which is sad because I think it's only a foot and a half tall almost). I wish I had ~-achiru-'s amazing skills of drawing big ]:

Finally done, yay! Commission for ~Angiebeast of an oriental kadjwalk. You should read the little description, it's interesting C:

Done with copic markers, ballpoint pen, and white goache paint on a big piece of cardstock and backed (painstakingly) on black illustration board. Glad to know this wont bend :D

I can't feel my fingertip from all the x-acto-ing i did last night. hope it comes back soon; it's affecting my typing D:

Anyway! :D I took this picture on my driveway, it's the best photo I could get. Enjoy~

Species © :iconangiebeast:
Art © :iconshinerai: that's me.

I wont be doing anything this big again any time soon. XD

DL isn't larger so don't bother.

This is awesome! I think I've commented on this before but dang!! The foreshortening in that front leg is awesome. I sgruggle with that. In fact I'm working on a piece where I need the leg to do somsething similar only from a different angle. Also I work with traditional media a lot but I have never done something quite this detailed. How did you get the textured look of the fur and feathers? I've been a little nervous to try anything this cool.

You might have commented, but I do appreciate the new comment! I wish I could be of more help but, honestly, I don't really remember how I went about this! Back then, my skills with copics weren't what they are now; I think I laid down the dark shadows before coloring in the highlights and lighter colors. I also heavily relied on ballpoint pen and gouache for the details I was just not capable of adding with only copics at the time.

Hmm...I still need to seek out that gouche stuff. I've tried white gel pens and pencils but they don't always work. I also need to try and figure out how to do this kind of detail with the hair like you did. I get intimidated by the prospective difficulty and stop before I start.

dont mind me as i creep though your gallery because I am taking a homework break...
but i honestly do not remember this picture! but its freaking amazing beb!
I LOVE the pose and the size of it..and wow traditional... copic markers, pen.. not sure what goache paint is.. but holy crap!!!
this is beautiful. the colors are so rich and the shading is excellent! i just cant get enough of this guy... i love his pose. and expression. the high lights on his tail and fur and scales are just incredible.
especially for such a large scale. i feel like this is in awe :3 i love his feets. i struggle a lot with foreshortening appendages and it is something i really admire in your work!

Haha! I don't mind your creepings. Thank you so much for the compliments c': I'm not so good at drawing big so this pic was a real challenge for me. As for gouache, I think you should try it. It's like watercolor, but opaque, so you can even do it on black if you wanted.

I would love to have this as a tattoo! Could you note me or something to see if that would be possible?

I apologize. As specifically stated in the description, this image was a commission for someone else. Thus, this dragon and its species belong to that person and may not be used by anyone else. Please do not get this image as a tattoo.

ok, I respect that^ ^. But what if I commissioned it from you and the person the image belongs to? With both of your permissions and fee payed for would that then qualify me able to get it? I'll understand and won't get it tattooed if you don't want to change your mind. But I'd love to have this, and if you do happen to change your mind I'll request to the artist to have your Deviantart name somewhere in the image. Sorry if I'm pushing it, I understand I'm most probably typing this in vain, but its worth a chance.

No, don't worry. If you send a note to the owner of this character and ask her for this image as a tattoo, and she says yes, come back to me C:
