Because I didn't have enough orange characters! jk. :c

Anyway, =Verlidaine and =Aki--Tenraku invited me to make one of their species called the Zeytilli. They're kinda like armadillo/alligator lizard dragons whose colors and wings are based off moths and butterflies. I was kinda shy at making one at first because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to give the character the attention it needed. They assured me it's ok (though with a turnout like this, I wanna draw him foreverrrr) so I made one!! C: They really walked me through it and I thank them for that because I asked a lot of questions. >XD Aki helped me on abilities and Verli gave me the name n_n. Thanks guys.

I saw everyone doing some beautiful moths and butterflies for theirs so I set out on a search to find something just as lovely. And orange. I changed my mind many times before stumbling across this moth and falling in love with it! It has everything i <3 Orange, clear wings, and FUZZY! Morso than other moths, it has fuzzy LEGS. Like I thought it was a big scarf or something, idk, why would a moth wear that, but I didn't think they were legs until alter. Anyway, so I wanted to incorporate these legs into the design and I got the OK for it, I'm so happy <3

ANYWAY. So I did most of this like. Today. Instead of my usual gaudy reference sheets, I started this one with a sketch and glorified it. The sketch and shading are on the same layer above the coloring. I think when I do reference sheets in the future, they'll be more like this. Looks just as nice and didn't take me five solid days to make.

It's 5am, and time for me to sleep now. adieu.

In case anyone wants to see the awesome crop pest moth this creature is based around, see here ---> [link]

[EDIT] made the image not so DARK.

cecropia moths are spectacular as well... my brother caught a female with a wingspan that was a little over 8 3/4 inches. we have it preserved in a box. he caught it at wendy's. he didn't even need a net! he put his finger in front of her, and she crawled onto his finger, and he was able to stick her in a bugbox (as we call the terrarium-type containers). that was the most exciting catch in the history of my life. besides the tiger moth i caught, which laid eggs on a plant outside. the poor girl was trapped in a spider web... and she was more tame than the moth my brother caught!!!

Wow that is incredible! I've seen a sphinx moth before, which I like. But not many big moths.
