Kiro Reference. by Shinerai Kiro Reference. by Shinerai
Lately I have been incredibly busy without too much time to draw. I plan on next completing a commission for ~diferent6 that will be a considerable undertaking. I've been feeling a little out of practice so I wanted to warm up first and work on something of my own.

A little different than my usual style, here's a reference sheet for one of my characters; Kiroalmagh. It took me longer than I anticipated to create this, but that's what happens when you haven't been drawing as much as you used to. I hope to one day have a reference sheet for all of my characters, aha.

Feel free to let me know how you feel about this reference sheet as opposed to my usual style (which typically includes a lot of text). ♥

That sternum/keel is really interesting, considering there aren't huge wings attached to it (I think) like one might expect from that sort of anatomical detail. ouo I'm really curious as to what your thoughts were on the reasons for it, because clearly your anatomy is top-notch and you know what you're doing! I can't tell too well from the angles shown here but it looks like it's a flat protrusion, without a massive amount of muscle attached to it (like for wings)? Is it for stabilization in the water maybe? :o

Why, Im glad you asked! Thank you for noticing! It certainly helps stabilization in the water but is also a comfy spot to put his super long non-streamline arms when he is swimming! Like this dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16…

Ohoho! Well, isn't that handy! See, I KNEW there was a reason for it. XD And you had a sketch to aid in visualization handy and everything!
