Long overdue ACEO trade with *NikiKalat. She let me choose which of her characters I'd like to draw, and I chose this character referred to as the "golden one" c: I really liked her long, flowy hair.

I did this in watercolors and. . . I haven't used watercolors in a really long time and I really did hate them when I did have to use them. So I wanted to try them again and it was pretty nice, especially since I had the right paper this time. I admit I had no idea what I was doing, but the loose feel of it was very nice. Of course, I need to work on some things, as usual. But I'm pleased with the result.

In real life, the border is a sparkly salmon color. And those dark speckles in the hair are sparkly gold C:

wow I love how soft and dreamy this picture is :0 Watercolor can have such a nice, soft effect. I should practice with it more as well, I can't get watercolor to behave for the life of me.

The right paper is SO important for working with watercolours. Very beautiful textures, colour and serenity of expression. :thumbsup:

I agree. I only did it in watercolor because we have these little watercolor paper ACEO pads and I've never used them, even though I bought a bunch. The paper was so terrible I ended up abandoning it halfway for a different brand and starting completely over TT_TT Thank you for your compliments beb c;
