Description

Here's something I've been working on forever. Thank you everyone who watched me paint this whole thing in LiveStream! It was great having you company. And thank you Ryoseth-CP and Skysealer for your critique. And everyone else for your support!

Here's a commission for Galidor-Dragon of her dragon named. . . Galidor!! I tried something totally new with this one and. . . I definitely didn't have the most efficient painting style but I learned a lot and I'm proud of how this came out, tedious as it may have been. I will probably never draw something like this ever again XD Enjoy!

Download it! It's big! Kinda.

Makes me realise how far behind I am, how bad my own stuff is. I want to be able to do this kind of stuff, the movement, the anatomy, the shading, the colors and the design. It's all so good and I know I'll never be able to achieve it

Might as well stop drawing now with that kind of attitude. You should probably research "self-fulfilling prophecy". The people that succeed are the ones that are inspired to work harder when they see what their goals look like.

Really, it's selfish to leave a comment like this on someone else's art. By leaving a comment on my art about this, you are assuming that I haven't gone through the same thing you are experiencing now - like the 'good' artists just have it easy.

Every artist is prone to feel like they aren't reaching their goals, like they aren't talented, like their improvement has stagnated, like they're falling behind others their age, like they might never make that dream career they wanted, like they don't have their own style, etc.

Everyone feels those and everyone must overcome those with practice, study, and optimism. Those that overcome the challenge are the successful ones. Art of any type (literature, graphic, performance) is very time consuming - the road is long and laid with obstacles, many of them self-imposed. If you are not prepared to commit a good portion of your entire life to this - if you aren't prepared to take on the obstacles, then take some other path and do something else and don't complain about it to others.

I'm sure you will be able to! All it takes is lots of practice. I wouldn't say the perspective in this image is the best ever, but it's something and all you need is something to start with :)

Hello! Thank you for the compliments. The anatomy isn't my usual style; I referenced it closely off of the character sheet made by ~Skysealer

WOW!! Omg, this is epic! the anatomy of the dragon looks great! I love how you made the wings, and how it looks like the right wing is gonna pop out of the screen. It looks like you have putted a lot of effort at the shading and have being very careful with the details.
Keep up the good work!

Nice work with the perspective. I like how the areas that are blurred a bit make this pop out. I did see a tutorial some time back that talked about blurring certain areas of a pic to make it more dynamic. Never tried it myself. Maybe that's something I will try though in the future :D

Very cool. I love the way you did this. Anatomy is different around the wing musculature than for other dragon depictions I've seen. It's not how I would have portrayed it, but then who really knows what it would really look like, as we have no real dragons we can use as reference? I love the way you you made the close up portions of the wing tips out of focus, as well as the end of the tail. I've just discovered your art, and I like it very much. You're so talented at such a young age. Art the same age, I didn't have half you're talent, and art almost age 50,I still don't.

Thank you so much for your compliments c:> I hope I'm still growing quickly as well! As for the wing musculature, I believe it to be inaccurate and something I wouldn't create myself, but I depicted it here as it was shown in the commission reference for the sake of character accuracy.

Okay. Now I understand why you did the wing musculature the way you did. You did a great job on it. Maybe that dragon pumps a lot of iron.
